Mulching your garden not only makes it look fantastic, it provides benefits for both the Gardener and the Garden.

Mulch retains moisture in the soil, regulates soil temperature and promotes the perfect environment for worms and micro organisms, who in turn improve soil quality, supplying essential nutrients needed for optimum plant growth.

At The Rock we recommend mulching at a depth of 75mm, 7.5cm or 3 inches, with a minimum coverage of 50mm.

Dark brown in colour, fine in texture and will break down and enrich your soil over time. Hoop Pine Fines is a suitable mulch for your garden beds.  Not suitable for slopes or windy areas.

A golden brown well refined mulch. Has a nice aroma when fresh. Fades in about 6 months. Repels white ants and termites.

From the native Hoop Pine tree, this bark is very stringy and curly in texture. Perfect for slopes and windy areas. Takes up to 12 months to fade and longer to break down, adding nutrients to the soil. Most efficient mulch available.

Chips of hardwood timber straight from the mill. Very clean and basic. Yellow gold in colour when fresh but fades to grey in 2 months.  Rough on bare feet. Not suitable on slopes. Quite long lasting.

Mixture of 1″ Slash, Hoop Curl and Hoop Fines. Relatively slow to breakdown and fade.  Good all rounder. Suitable for gentle slopes.

Carbon Black Cypress mulch has a rich long lasting colour, retains moisture, has natural termite resistance and a lovely cypress fragrance.

A medium size version of pine park. Gives a neater look. Will fade within 3-6 months and is very slow to breakdown.  Decorative, not organic. Not suitable for slopes.

Forest Mulch is slightly finer, less course Mulch Bark & Compost. Finishing those large landscaping jobs off perfectly. Forest mulch is a good mulch for large areas or those tight budget landscaping products.
